Another really good day for the Trek Pirelli team with Fabian Rabensteiner taking the win of the 2021 Gran Fondo della Spaccapria, an italian point to point race of 49 km.

Today was a really good race – said Fabian at the end. “A super fun and technical course, not too wet so it was ideal to push really hard. On the first downhill the group stretched, myself and Gael were together in front. On the second downhill, I attacked with Tabacchi and Cattaneo. After Cattaneo’s crash, Tabacchi and I took control of the race until the last climb, where I tried to make a really difficult pass to avoid the sprint finish against Tabacchi that was faster than me. My plan worked and I won. I’m feeling really good, but my mind is already set to the next big races“.

Really good results also for Gioele De Cosmo finishing at a very satisfying 4th place. Bad luck for Michele Casagrande slowed down by a crash in the second part of the race.

During this time, our Swiss rider Janis Baumann spent his weekend racing XCO in beautiful Hiaming, Austria, and also made us proud finishing at a great 6th place in the Under 23 category.

I’m quite happy with my results today, but it’s not perfect yet, I know there is space for improvement“.
